Exhibition Opportunities

The Visual Arts Coalition of Dallas (VACD) provides exhibition space for group shows with four or more participating artists. VACD will help individual artist members when possible to identify other artists in the community to collaborate with in group shows.

Exhibitions typically span a single calendar month, with the show opening during the first of the month and ending near or at the end of the month.

Artists Eligibility

Individual artists and art organizations from the North Texas area, who are current members of VACD, are eligible to show their artwork at the VACD Gallery in Uptown Dallas. Please see join us page for more information on becoming a member of VACD.

Exhibition Space

The gallery can accommodate 30 to 40 pieces of art, depending on the dimensions of individual pieces. Prospective exhibition participants are encouraged to visit the gallery and view the space prior to proposal submission.

VACD has only a limited ability to accommodate sculpture; therefore, the artist and/or exhibiting group must provide their own bases/stands for 3-D works.

Sales & Commission

VACD will retain 20% commission on the sales of exhibited pieces. Sold pieces must remain in the gallery until the last day of the exhibition.

Exhibition Requirements

Leadership

The exhibiting group must identify a single contact person to act as the primary exhibit coordinator, ensuring that deadlines are met, and as a liaison between VACD and the individual artists in the group.

Gallery Sitting

The gallery must be manned at all times while the exhibit is open. The sitter does not necessarily have to be the artist, but someone who is familiar with the exhibiting group and is able to communicate well with the public.
Gallery hours are Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm.

Exhibition Standards & Jury Process

The artwork exhibited in the gallery must meet gallery standards of being properly framed and ready to hang. VACD reserves the right to reject pieces which do not meet proper gallery standards for exhibition.

VACD encourages exhibition of works juried by an outside source and requests the opportunity to help groups select works that meet VACD standards of professionalism, artistic expression, uniqueness, and presentation.

Hanging Fee

There is a $5.00 hanging fee per piece entered into the exhibition.
